A Tide of Shadows The Chronicles of Llars Book 1 eBook Tom Bielawski
I wasn't sure what I would be getting when I first started the novel as I had never read anything by the author before, but I was quickly surprised at how much thought, creativity and talent for writing was put into the novel to create a vivid and engaging story. A Tide of Shadows follows one man as his fate is changed suddenly in the wave of accusation, sending him tumbling into a world of tenuous allies and magical/supernatural foes that all have plans of their own that threaten Carym's own life. Carym must journey to the magic waters of the Everpool in hopes of regaining his freedom and finding a new life among the ashes of the old. The author, Tom Bielawski, has an eye for detail and a flair for the imaginative, creating everything from a chilling evil god who has an army at his disposal to a band of rebels that save and threaten Carym's life in equal turn. The well written novel was truly entertaining, sending along on Carym's journey with him eagerly as I got swept up in A Tide of Shadows, leaving me eager to read more in the series.

A Tide of Shadows The Chronicles of Llars Book 1 eBook Tom Bielawski Reviews
This was a book that I was glad to get to read. It offered much in the way of standard fantasy books as far as settings, ideas, conceptualization and similar components.
Was this a "perfect" book?
Is any book perfect??
Is this a book that everyone will like or need to read???
I must answer no, for nothing is perfect and personal tastes do vary.
Was this a good, fun, entertaining, compelling, not able to put down, book - Heck Yeah!!
I would like more of this type. I can only say that if you do not like it and it is because of grammar/spelling errors, then I can appreciate being bothered, but it is really not enough of a reason - in my opinion - to make it unreadable nor worthy of a major downgrade. Usually editors catch these sorts of items, but then again, I will easily accept some such errors for the quite reasonable price.
Those who do complain about said errors, are usually (again, in my opinion) being excessively picky. I have found that I can easily read through such a thing and keep right on reading and focus on the story line. If you cannot then maybe, just maybe, you are the one who has problems with perfectionism and the inability to deal with life's little bumps and ruts. NOTE I said MAYBE, I do not claim to know for sure. -)
To cap it off, this was a worthwhile book which brought me entertainment, pleasure and most of all scratched my itch for a good fantasy read.
A Tide of Shadows by Tom Bielawski is the first book in the Chronicles of Llars series. Carym of Hyrum finds he has powers that he didn't know he had, and embarks on a journey with his friend, Zach.
A Tide of Shadows has the good vs evil trope, which I love, but for some reason I just couldn't get into this story. There were many details given, but not the details I wanted. These details may be included in future books, however, I didn't care for the flow of the story enough to read future books. With that being said, I felt it a decent enough read for passing the time.
There are plenty of epic fantasies being made each year, and they all kind of get lost within each other. This book seemed a lot like the others at first. But after a few pages and evolution of characters and plotline, it was surprisingly fantastic. Just push through the beginning. Like every fantasy, the author first begins by describing the characters and creating the image and feel of the world for the reader. After the author explained situations, he dove right into this complex story that I definitely wasn't expecting! New characters, are they enemies or friends? Or is there more than one enemy? Who's the good guy? Where does the main character have to travel? The plotline just carried me away so suddenly!
The author's writing style is also very descriptive as an epic tale like this should be. I was pleased with the information given, the character development, the world they live in, and the adventure. Excellent story!
"A Tide of Shadows" first off has so. much. imagination put into it! The world he builds up is creative and well thought out, like the author has actually been to this place or something! The scenes and settings are clear in my mind due to the author's descriptive writing, and I see probably exactly what the author wants me to see instead of having each reader see it differently. The characters are so earthy, I instantly fall in love with them! They have similar feelings about similar things, I can easily relate to them, or they're someone I want to be like.
The plot is full of danger, action, quests, enemies, distant lands, mysterious legendary waters, and pursuit. The author creates all these different characters that each have their own plans for a single man. I thought that was a pretty cool thing to do, because it makes the end so much more clouded and uncertain...
I definitely want to live in Llars D GETTING THE NEXT BOOK FOR SURE!
